A little bit about this project and my involvement: Fat Wallet is your fast guide to money written by my dad Stephen Church, illustrations and layout by Becca O'Shea, and photographs by me. The creative direction for the photographs were a collaborative effort from all three parties, but we all thought it was best to go bright with the colour palette. Against the grain of the traditional look and feel accompanying money speak. This project consisted of 16 or 17 mini photoshoots illustrating various concepts in the book. Each one presented a unique challenge requiring that we source or create the props ourselves. We also pulled in talented individuals to model crazy yellow wigs, sport shark hats, snorkels and pull funny faces. A lot of spray paint was used but no animals were harmed in the making of the book. For me the most exciting part of this project was collaborating with these two and seeing the finished book in print! After what was countless hours of writing, designing, illustrating and photographing - it all came together seamlessly.
Most importantly and the driver for this project, is seeing first hand money causing much unnecessary grief for people and couples. With a look at your unconscious beliefs and attitudes towards money, you can uncover what drives your money behaviours. Learning how to master money and enjoy a fulfilling life is the ultimate goal here. I am so stoked to have been apart of this project as this book enables just that. Get your copy here.
